Domains and DNS
Last updated 25 October 2026
Register a domain
- 1. Open Domains and search for a name. You see the price in euros for the first year and for renewal.
- 2. Enter the holder's details. They go to the registry; public WHOIS shows them redacted.
- 3. Confirm. The year is paid from your balance and the domain is usually ready in a few minutes.
DNS records
Open the domain to add, change or remove A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT and SRV records. Changes are live at Cloudflare within seconds; resolvers that cached the old answer follow within the record's TTL.
To send the domain to one of your servers, add an A record (and an AAAA record for IPv6) and choose the server under Or point it at one of your servers: its address is filled in for you. Use @ as the name for the domain itself and www for www.
Renewal and transfers
A domain renews from your balance 45 days before it expires. If the balance cannot pay by 32 days before expiry, the domain is not renewed. To move a domain to another registrar, write to support for the transfer code.
