Why port 25 is closed
Outgoing mail on port 25 is blocked on new accounts, because spammers rent servers by the hour. Blocked mail never leaves, so your server's address stays off blocklists.
Have it opened
After your first paid month, ask from the Mail ports page: tell us what the server will send and to whom. We usually answer within a working day, and may close the port again after complaints.
Until then you can send through an email provider's submission port (587 or 465), which is open.
